The International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL) has offered to help Vietnamese Agent Orange victims in their on-going fight for justice after failure at the US Federal appeal court.

IADL President Jitendra Sharma delivered the offer to Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong at their meeting in Hanoi on March 17.

“IADL is always a faithful friend to Vietnam,” Jitendra Sharma stated.

He said he was happy to see important socio-economic achievements Vietnam has recorded in the course of its development and its contributions to world growth.

The IADL president is visiting Vietnam in preparation for the 17th IADL congress slated for 2009. Vietnam is the first Asian country selected to host the IADL congress.

Deputy Prime Minister Trong said the Vietnamese Government supports the IADL congress and will do its best to provide the best conditions for its successful operation.

He thanked the IADL for supporting Vietnam in its past struggle for national liberation and in the Vietnamese AO victims’ current battle for justice. (VNA)
