Floods triggered by typhoon Hagupit in northern Vietnam have killed 16 people while three others were missing, state television said.
Seven people were reported dead and three missing in Son La province, said VTV. Five people died in Bac Giang province and four in Lang Son.
According to state-run television, 13 others have been injured.
About 11,000 houses have been flooded or damaged, while some 15,000 hectares of crops have been damaged.
Typhoon Hagupit hit Vietnam from Wednesday to Thursday before being downgraded to a low pressure storm.
In August, at least 160 people died or were left missing and presumed dead in tropical storm Kammuri and subsequent floods in Vietnam’s northern mountainous areas.
Every year, hundreds of deaths are reported in the country when it is hit by floods and storms between July and November.
